SHOW DESCRIPTION

Everyone struggles with caring for themselves. We work long hours, eat unhealthy foods, think negative thoughts, and hold onto negative habits. How do we balance our work lives and our health? Do we take time to take care of ourselves? There are 3 areas of self-care; Physical, Mental, and Emotional.

Everyone knows about the outward physical health aspect. Taking strides to stay in shape by working out, exercising, and eating healthy are only a couple of ways to help maintain your physical self-care. We always seem to forget that getting a checkup with a Doctor or going to the Dentist can also be a form of self-care.

Being in a positive mental state is another important aspect of self-care. Self-respect creates a positive mindset. When you take care of your outward appearance you feel better about yourself. Feeling better about yourself breeds confidence and positivity in your thoughts and actions building a healthier mental state.

Everyone has emotional needs. We deal with happiness, sadness, anger, love, and hate. It is important to deal with our stressors so that our emotions do not overwhelm us and create health issues. Stress is a leading cause of heart health issues in the world today. Find a healthy way to reduce your stress levels and keep the stresses from bleeding into your relationships. Go for a walk, meditate, play a game, listen to music, write in a journal, or exercise. These are all great ways to relieve your stresses.

Maintain healthy relationships. You never know how much time you have in this life and no one knows when their time is going to come. Spend time with those you love and let them know you truly care. In doing so, you will help their emotional health and improve their chances of maintaining better self-care. Make sure you aren’t leaving this life with any regrets and that you won’t regret inaction when someone else is gone.

When we take our self-care seriously and take little steps to improve ourselves, we will find it easier to get our shit together.
