052: What is Happiness?

052: What is Happiness?

SHOW DESCRIPTION

Define: Happiness
a
:  a state of well-being and contentment :  joy
b :  a pleasurable or satisfying experience.

This is what Merriam-Webster will say about the definition of our topic of the week which is….. Happiness!  What is happiness?  Is it a person, place, or thing?  All of the above?  Or none of the above?  That is exactly what your hosts Sam, Rohit and Kyle will be discussing today.

Everyone seems to have their own definition of happiness but have you ever really been asked “What is happiness?”.  It sounds so trivial although it is a very eye opening question.  Once you ask yourself this question and truly ponder it’s meaning, you can begin to define happiness.  Once you can define it, you’ll know how to find more of it and that’s what we want for everyone!.  I mean, who doesn’t  want to be happy?  The trouble is that we don’t know how.  We get so wrapped up in society’s or others ideas of happiness that we lose sight of what it is that truly makes us happy.    This week the crew will take that on and give you a few thoughts on how you can define happiness for yourself and spread it!

Happiness is much more than the absence of sadness.  Get you some grapes!

051: 3 Action Items To Transform Your Life

051: 3 Action Items To Transform Your Life

SHOW DESCRIPTION

We all want different way to get ahead in life We look towards simple step-by-step instructions, but when we find them, we think they are too easy and don’t follow through. Humans have this amazing ability to over complicate things so we can say we have triumphed. But what do the rich and successful people of the world do to get ahead, they simplify!

The GYST Crew did some research into what really are simple steps to follow, that are more complex than they appear. This is a list that should satisfy everyone out there.

First Kyle Reed introduces the concept of “Burning Your Ships”. This famous analogy encourages us to create a lifestyle of winning by leaving no other options. We are making a declaration that we are fully committed to something, just like John F Kennedy declared that we will put a man on the moon and return him safely to earth.

Next Rohit Rohila speaks about the power behind finding a mentor. We are so afraid of finding a mentor because that means we need to take some serious action after we find one. A mentor is someone who has been where you are, and overcame tremendous odds to reach a higher level of success, one that you desire yourself. To help you find one, mastermind groups are a fantastic first step. Search for local groups at Meetup.com

Closing things up is Sam Tea talking about the necessity of staying playful. We all have to stay loose and relaxed. This essential step goes far in assuring us that we see the positive in the negative, and that we foster an environment where it is easier to see the day by day growth.

This podcast: 3 Action Items to Transform Your Life, has a keyword in it… Action! You can prepare all you want, but if you don’t take action, if you don’t take that first step forward, nothing else matters. You will continue to live your ideal life… in your dreams, but never in reality!

049: The Three Choices You Will Regret Forever

049: The Three Choices You Will Regret Forever

SHOW DESCRIPTION

Regret is a strong word and “no regrets” seems to be a popular phrase.  If it’s so popular then why do people tend to wish “things were different”.  I like to think that I will not regret most decisions I’ve made when the fact of the matter is that we just learn to live with them.

When you really look at what regret means it is really a feeling of sadness or disappointment over something that has happened or been done. I’m sure most everyone has felt this way at one point of their life.

This week, we tackle that topic.  More importantly we tackle 3 decisions that you will regret forever.  These may seem to be common sense although there are so many of us that fall into the idea that “there will always be more time”.  The first decision you will regret forever is “making decisions based on what other people thought”.  If you spend your entire life making decisions solely on what others think then who are you really living for?  Of course, it’s good to take others thoughts and feelings into consideration when they are involved but ultimately this is a decision for you.  #2.  Wishing that you would have expressed your feelings.  How many times have you been in a situation where you suppressed your true feelings?  Maybe it was because if the #1 reason above or maybe something else entirely.  I guess if you don’t express your feelings then you’ll never know, will you?  And, finally the number 3 decision that you will regret forever.   Wishing that you would have shown more love.  To friends, to family, to distant relatives or even strangers.  Whenever you have an opportunity to show love do it.

We’re all in this together.
